Foothill has several ensembles.  They are the Choir, Hand Bells, Flute-recorder, Boomwhackers, Kindergarten Wind Instruments, Rhythmic Band Instruments, and three Keyboard ensembles.  The ensembles play for various school programs like Thanksgiving and Holloween, Winter musicals (It’s the Truth Ruth, Amahl and the Night Visitors, Artaban, the Other Wise Man), Valentine, Talent Show, (singing, cultural dances, instrumental, -- pipa, violin, harmonium, piano, choral reading with acting), Spring musicals (Dear Abby), etc.  The ensembles also visit several Seventh-day Adventist churches around the Bay Area (Milpitas, East Palo Alto, San Jose Central, San Jose Fil-Am, and San Jose Ephesus).

In April 2004, the Foothill Choir, Hand Bells, and Boomwhacker groups are planning to sing and perform at a Seventh-day Adventist church in Los Angeles and also to participate in AMERICA SINGS, INC. at El Dorado East Regional Park in Long Beach, CA.


 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 



 

Sally Lo Saberola

 

Sally Lo Saberola, a member of the Music Teachers’ Association of California and Association of the Guild of Organists, is the music teacher at Foothill Adventist School.  She graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Education, with a Major in Music Education (primary applied – Piano).  She has a Master of Arts in Music Education, and a Doctorate of Education in Education Administration.  Prior to her coming to the US, she was instructor and head of the Music Department at Mountain View College in the Philippines (an Adventist College) for 6 years; head of Professional Education and Associate Dean of the College of Education at Palawan State University (State governed School) for a total of 12 years.  Her exposure to varied college musical groups that traveled here and abroad and numerous music seminars / workshops led to Foothill’s several existing ensembles.  Dr. Sally, as she is fondly called, also teaches piano after school here at Foothill
